Dennis R. Ferguson Former East Bay Resident Dennis Robert Ferguson passed away on July 31, 2010, in Redding, CA. He was born on May 2, 1948, in Portland, OR and lived most of his life in the East Bay. Dennis grew up in San Pablo, CA with his parents and four brothers and sisters. He went to Salesian High School ('66) where he was a stand out basketball and baseball player. He attended De Anza College and set a college division batting average record of over .500, which still stands today. He entered the sprinkler fitter trade, raised his family in Pinole, CA, played softball at Fernandez Park, and frequently golfed at Franklin Canyon. Dennis married Carol and retired a few years later to Anderson, CA. His last years were spent with Carol enjoying golf, fishing, and traveling in his fifth-wheel. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Rose Ferguson; sister Marilyn and brother James. He leaves behind his wife Carol; daughters Tracy and Tara Presnell (Dustin); step-daughters Stacey Mack (Todd) and Bianca Pizziol; stepson Anthony Pizziol; brothers Gary (Chrystal) and Alan; sister Lisa; and grandson Cooper Wagner. A graveside service will be held at Rolling Hills Cemetery, El Sobrante, Friday, August 6, 2010, at 2:30pm. A Celebration of Life in Dennis' honor will be held at 4pm at the Pinole Sportsman's Club. All who knew and loved Dennis are welcome.
